Flavour, talk to Scottie long enough and you will discover flavour is pretty much what drives him, that is despite his obvious love for his wife, the church and close family and friends. But flavour and the important role the sense plays in his life and his passion to use his skill to enhance the lives of those around him has taken him all over the world.

Particularly with coffee working as a barista, coffee roaster, barista trainer and cafe consultant, over the last six years Scottie has proven himself as a leading professional in his chosen field. Winning the 2006 Specialty Coffee Association Of Europe’s World Latte Art Championship in Berne Switzerland and more recently taking out the 2007 Australasian Specialty Coffee Associations Australian Barista Championship. These successes have enabled Mr Callaghan to travel all over Australia and New Zealand, to Switzerland, Norway, Denmark, The U.K, Canada, Tokyo in search of the perfect cup. And while he was in all these places taken the liberty to suss out the food and wine scene, such as The fish markets in Tokyo or expensive chocolate in Switzerland.

Scottie is currently working in Sydney with the team at Mecca Espresso Sydney City. With Morgan's Handcrafted Coffee as a barista trainer/cafe consultant. Writing a book geared specifically for the everyday coffee drinker to help you navigate the subjective mind field that is the coffee industry. Working towards launching his website that will offer a range of things including a home espresso package, The Pony Blend, named after Scottie by the staff at Morgan's Coffee who in true Aussie spirit affectionately nickname him The 'Show Pony'. The website will also offer the worlds best hot chocolate, chocolate coated coffee beans and Scotties famous dosing tools.
